The Radiology Assistant 1.0 was released almost 7 years ago. It quickly became one of the most downloaded radiology apps, and consistently stayed in the Top Medical Apps section in numerous countries for all those years.

We have spent over a year completely rewriting the app, from the ground up. Radiology Assistant 2.0 provides a cleaner, faster and more efficient reading experience for all modern iOS devices.

For the technically interested: formerly Objective-C, the app is now 100% Swift

Before winning the “Best Radiology Mobile App” Award in 2018, the “Radiology Assistant” was a Minnies 2013 Finalist – Best Radiology Mobile App, nominated together with OsiriX HD! And again in 2017!

“* Now compatible with iOS 8 *

RealWorld Radiology is your ultimate guide to the basics of thoracic imaging. Learn to read chest X-rays in no time and discover the most frequent diagnoses through multiple fully annotated examples.

RealWorld Radiology currently features more than 70 real-world cases (with more coming for free every month!) each containing:
– High-resolution X-rays
– All appropriate series (posterioranterior, lateral, expiratory, etc.)
– Clinical information regarding the patient and mode of presentation
– Detailed radiologic interpretation
– Drawings of every radiological finding right on the X-ray

Our cases have been especially selected for their high pedagogical value and real-world representativeness. They can be classified either by diagnosis (e.g. pneumonia, atelectasis, pulmonary fibrosis) or by actual radiological finding (e.g. alveolar opacities, interstitial opacities, silhouette sign), making the learning of the differential diagnosis easier than ever while keeping each case easy to find for quick access.

Test your knowledge with the Quiz mode and check if what you see matches the radiologist’s findings.

All in all, RealWorld Radiology is your ideal reference for example-based learning or quick on-the-spot study while waiting for your attending.”

“Learn radiology anatomy & clinical reasoning using x-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound.

This app is designed for medical trainees and medical professionals to increase their confidence in identifying normal anatomic structures, ordering the most appropriate imaging test and identifying common pathology.

This app is based on the radiology undergraduate curriculum at the University of British Columbia (UBC), which is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The app content is organized into the pre-clinical (MS1, MS2) and clinical (MS3, MS4, intern) years. The focus of the pre-clinical years is on identifying normal anatomy and acquiring basic ultrasound skills and the focus of the clinical years is to become familiar with ordering appropriateness criteria and to recognize key pathology. The list of clinical cases presented in this app are developed from the UBC third year medical student clerkship “Must See” clinical objectives.

We encourage you to work through this app as a curriculum to enhance your understanding of radiology.”
